About Me

....Unless you want your precious friend back....
-
Unknown agent, book 1

Laura never remembered parents.
She never remembered siblings.
Or a house.
A pet.
An orphan from the start, her parents disowned her as soon as she was out of the hospital.
She remembered other things though.
The orphanage.
Wailing Becky because Ryan had stuck gum in her hair and it wouldn't come out.
Taking care of those younger and waking up early and going to bed late.
Overworked.
She tried to sneak out many, many times.
It all ended with somebody calling in and them picking her up again.
They didn't recognize her face.
They just drove her to 'home' and chatted excitedly about the new family she might get.
She never got one.
Never.
Ever.
Ever.
Ever.
Ever.
EVER.
A few interviews.
But Shelby was just SO cute.
Or Billy was just too cool.
Or Mandy just absolutely perfect.
Tyler and Brooke reminded them as themselves when they were young.
They wanted someone younger.
Older.
Prettier.
Cooler.
More impressive.
Stronger.
Everything but her.
Finally, when she was eight, she snuck out and stayed out.
Gathering the dinner she never ate and saying goodbye to the eight toddlers she took care of every day since she was six, she climbed out the crowed orphanage  into the cool of the night.
She ran into the forest looking back only to see if people were following her.
Getting to the other side at the break of dawn was Jackie's house.
Jackie had a family back then.
Back then.
She had a tree house and that was all Laura cared about at the time.
She slept well that night, the best sleep she had had in a long time.
*~*~*
"I said, WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT'RE YOU DOING IN MY TREE HOUSE!!!!!"
That was Jackie, innocent and annoying back then.
"Laura, sleeping."
She replied, turning over to return to her dream.
"Well get out Laura."
Jackie crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her lower lip out in a determined, bossy way.
"I don't snore."
 Replied Laura.
This response caught Jackie off-guard.
"Fine. Just don't make any noise."
She climbed back down the tree house ladder and retrieved a blanket and pillow and handed them to Laura.
Sighing, Jackie picked up a faded, worn book from the mini table and flopped into a beanbag chair.
"What book is that?" Laura propped her head up against the tiny chair that belonged to the mini table.
"I call it the Big Book of Fairy Tales." Jackie replied. "I only read them so I can pretend that I live their life and not this dumb one." She flipped a few pages then came to the page she was looking for.
"Look there's you!" She giggled, pointing to a picture of Sleeping Beauty. They played and laughed as the week flew by.
Laura was reading the Big Book of Fairy Tales when Jackie came up and went to the abandoned computer sitting in the corner.
Click. Click.
Click.
Type.
Click.
Type.
"Whatcha doing?"
Laura was leaning over Jackie's shoulder in a second, staring at the computer screen.
"Blogging."
Jackie replied without taking her gaze off the screen or her fingers off the keyboard.
"Cool. What's it about?"
"My life n' stuff. Why?"
This time Jackie diverted her eyes to look in Laura's blue ones.
"Just curious."
That was the start of a friendship that will never break.
Then.
Laura and Jackie had wandered away from the tree house one day.
"Where are we going Jackie?"
"Somewhere special."
"Oh! Okay!"
There was a spring in the forest and they sat at the edge playing around happily.
They giggles and splashed each other with their feet.
Then Laura fell in.
"LAURA!!"
A scream and Laura floated up from the water, got to where Jackie was, hoisted herself up, and calmly walked across the bubbling spring.
"How did you do that?" Jackie, astonished.
"Can't everyone do it?"
"You must be special."
It had all started with that.
A week later Jackie found out she was Earth.
After that, they met up with Dawn and Twi.

I seriously need to post some more.

As if I don't have a life.
It's just nothings happened lately, besides me winning a spot in Cellie's glory.
That was fun.
Thanks to all those who voted for me and Twi!
I mean, its normal for a bad guy to win every once and a while, but every time?
One of us had to put an end to it.
Anyways.
I'll come back when there's more to write!

I know, I know,

I know what you're thinking.
"Hey, aren't you traveling to Maine on foot? And, hey, I thought nobody was supposed to go on breaks to blog?"
A. Yes.
B. True, but since I hadn't blogged yet (before this) Ember (taking charge) says I can go on while eating my lunch.
"What are you eating?"
A ham and cheese sandwich.
"What's that?"
Jeez. Snoopish today huh? It's basically HAM AND CHEESE ON A SANDWICH.
"How are you posting this?"
Jeez. So questionable what I'm doing. I'm on an Internet Cafe.
"WOAH WOAH WOAH, YOU'RE EATING COMPUTERS???"
No. It's kinda like a library. Can you stop with the questions????
"Why?"
It's getting annoying.
"How?"
Well let's see. You're pestering me.
"..........."
Exactly.
"But---"
No If, Ands, or Butts.
"Isn't it buts?"
Leave me alone.
